    This course explores the time period in U.S. history from the Progressive Era through the present. Students will study the industrialists, the Progressive era, WWI, 1920’s, The Great Depression & the New Deal, WWII and the Holocaust, the Cold War and contemporary history. Accompanying the in-depth coverage are additional readings and reports. All students select and complete a National History Day project.     • World War I (1914 – 1918)

    • The Roaring Twenties (1920 – 1929)

    • Post Cold War and Toward a New Millennium  (1989-2000)

    Sociology

    This course examines the social relationships that comprise the human environment. Students study the various aspects of culture and how different societies attempt to meet their needs. Topics examined include: socialization, adolescence, social stratification, relationships with minorities, the roles of men and women, the structure and role of the family in society.
