November 5th: Letter to the WTPS Community
The Wall Township Board of Education has officially launched the search for the
district’s next Superintendent of Schools, partnering with Strategic Exemplary Alliance
(SEA) to lead an inclusive and community-centered process.
As part of this effort, SEA will conduct focus groups and meetings with parents, staff,
administrators, and community members. In addition, an online survey is available on
the Wall Township Board of Education website to gather input from the broader Wall
community. Feedback collected through these forums will help develop a Leadership
Profile that reflects the district’s core values and priorities, guiding the search for an
exceptional educational leader to move Wall Schools forward.
Regular updates on the search process will be shared through district communications
and posted on the district website. Community participation will play a vital role in
selecting a superintendent who will continue Wall’s tradition of excellence in
academics, athletics, and the arts, while fostering the growth and well-being of every
student.
The Board of Education sincerely thanks the community for its engagement and
support. The process will officially begin on November 25, with focus groups for
students, teachers, administrators, and parents. An Open Community Forum will be
held that evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Wall Intermediate School Auditorium. A Virtual
Open Forum will also be available online on December 1 at 7pm and the link will be
made available on the Wall website.
Together, we look forward to a thoughtful and collaborative process to identify the next
visionary leader for Wall Township Public Schools.

WTPS Community:
The Wall Township Board of Education needs your help as we begin the search for our next Superintendent of Schools! We look forward to your participation in this confidential online input survey for all District stakeholders. All parents, guardians, high school students, staff, and community members are invited to participate, and the information gathered will help shape the candidate profile for the next Superintendent.
Please take a moment to thoughtfully answer this survey, which is being wholly administered by our search firm, Strategic Exemplary Alliance, LLC (SEA), not the school district. All responses are anonymous and will be shared with the Board of Education to help determine the desired leadership qualities for the next Superintendent and to assist in developing interview questions.
All information emailed to the community and updates on the search process will also be posted on the Wall Township Public Schools’ website under the Superintendent Search 2025-2026 tab and shared on our social media outlets.
We appreciate your support in this essential endeavor.
Sincerely,
Wall Township Board of Education
October 15th: Letter to the WTPS Community
To the Wall Township Public Schools Community,
At last night’s Board of Education meeting, I announced my intent to retire upon expiration of my contract, which concludes on June 30, 2026. As I approach my 33rd year in education, this bittersweet moment brings excitement for the future and heartfelt reflection on my sixth and final year with Wall Township Public Schools.
It has been both a privilege and a pleasure to work alongside the caring, talented educators and support staff in our district whose unwavering focus remains on our students. I have also been fortunate to collaborate with exceptional Boards of Education, who have been deeply committed to this community and its children. Together, our partnerships, past and present, have centered on a shared dedication to student success, prudent and trusted administration, and meaningful service to the Wall Township community. Advancing instructional improvement through thoughtful strategic planning, championing educational and community groups, and completing capital projects that reflect collective pride in our students and the value we place on scholastic experiences in the classroom, on the stage, and on our athletic fields are just some of the things we have produced jointly. Following my Board of Education appointment as Superintendent of Schools in May 2020 with a July 2020 start, I conveyed that “Together, we can do great things.” I do hope that statement still resonates. While I will always reminisce and think fondly of our teamwork, I look forward to following all of WTPS’ achievements moving forward.
With such, a new chapter begins! The Board of Education is committed to a transparent, inclusive, and comprehensive search. Also announced at last night’s Board of Education meeting, the search firm, Strategic Exemplary Alliance, LLC (SEA), was approved to guide the district through the superintendent search process. The very experienced members of this firm will assist with recruiting a multifaceted pool of highly qualified candidates, managing the application and screening process, and ensuring that the Board has the necessary data and input to make an informed decision.
A critical part of this process will be engaging all stakeholders. Strategic Exemplary Alliance will facilitate community forums, focus groups, and surveys to gather feedback from parents, staff, students, and community members on the qualities, experiences, and leadership attributes the next Superintendent should possess. This input will play a vital role in developing the leadership profile used to identify and evaluate candidates and will serve as the opportunity for community members to contribute to the search.
Throughout the coming months, updates on the search process and opportunities for participation will be shared through district communications, on our social media outlets, and on the Wall Township Public Schools’ website.
The Board anticipates completing the process and appointing the next Superintendent of Schools sometime in the Spring of 2026, allowing for a seamless transition in leadership and continued focus on our shared mission, providing an exceptional educational experience for every student.
I look forward to leading the District in the months to come and remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as Superintendent of Wall Township Public Schools.
Sincerely,
Tracy R. Handerhan, D.Litt.
