Wall Township Public Schools Appoints Dr. David Bleakley as New Superintendent of Schools

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Wall Township Board of Education is proud to announce the
appointment of Dr. David Bleakley as the new Superintendent of Schools. A seasoned and
community-oriented leader, Dr. Bleakley brings a track record of academic and
operational excellence to the district, along with a deep commitment to fostering a
supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
 
Dr. Bleakley joins Wall Township Public Schools (WTPS) with extensive experience in educational leadership, most recently serving as the Principal of Marlboro High School in the Freehold Regional High School District since 2017. His career in education spans over two decades, including roles as an assistant principal, academic supervisor, and social studies teacher. Dr. Bleakley earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rutgers University in 2013, following a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Leadership from Georgian Court University and a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers.

Dr. Bleakley’s leadership philosophy is centered on the core belief that "ALL means ALL".
He is a proponent of servant leadership, aiming to support systems that change the
trajectories of students' lives while promoting the growth and well-being of the entire
staff and community. His vision for WTPS aligns with the district’s goal of balancing
academic rigor with a holistic approach to student development, including mental health
support and robust extracurricular programs.
 
As a highly visible and accessible leader, Dr. Bleakley plans to maintain an active
presence in the schools and high visibility at community events. He is committed to
transparent communication and building strong partnerships with parents, the Board of
Education and local stakeholders to foster a shared sense of purpose.

A native of Monmouth County, Dr. Bleakley grew up in Howell Township as the son of two
teachers. He remains a local resident, where he lives with his wife of 20 years, Kelsey, and
their two children, Kendall and Cameron. In his personal time, he is an avid reader and
enjoys fitness, playing music, and spending time at the Jersey Shore.

The Wall Township Board of Education selected Dr. Bleakley for his integrity, visionary
leadership, and proven ability to improve outcomes while making ethical,
student-centered decisions. His appointment marks a new chapter for the district as it
continues to strive for long-term growth and stability.

Dr. Bleakley was appointed on February 17, 2026, and will officially begin to serve as
Superintendent on July 1, 2026.
