60%Tests/Projects, 30% Quizzes/participation, 10% hw/classwork

This class is an in-depth study of the time period in U.S. History from Pre-Revolutionary America to 1900. Students will study the thirteen colonies, American Revolution, Constitution, and The Early National period, including the slave trade and Amistad, the pre-antebellum period, the Civil War, and Reconstruction. Political, economic, and social aspects of the Industrialized Era are included as topics for discussion. Additional outside readings and research papers are integral components of the course.
